The Eagles’ offense exploded again on Saturday night, putting up 48 points to help secure their third straight win.

The passing attack was used much more this game then in the last one, as senior quarterback Carson Mousel threw for multiple touchdowns on the night.

When asked about the passing game being involved a lot more this week, Mousel said, “It was nice to switch things up and show what we can do with our passing offense.”

Mousel and the offense would get off to a hot start, scoring four straight unanswered touchdowns to start the game to go up 28-0. The last of which came when Mousel connected with senior wide receiver Jack Montgomery for a passing touchdown late in the second quarter.

After going up 28-0, the Eagles gave up their only touchdown of the first half when the Roadrunners ran it in with 19 seconds left in the first half, making it 28-8 after successful a two-point conversion. Up until then, the Eagles' defense made plays throughout the first half, including a forced fumble and an interception.

Scottsdale Christian picked up where they left off in the first half scoring on their first drive of the half when Mousel hit Montgomery for a passing touchdown for the second time in the game, making it 34-8.

When asked about his performance and why the offense did so well, Montgomery said, “Everything was clicking, and our quarterback was making plays.”

San Tan Charter added a touchdown of their own on the next drive to make it 34-14 halfway through the third. But the Eagles responded, scoring two unanswered touchdowns putting them up 48-14 halfway through the fourth.

The Eagles defense would also pick up another interception, making it three forced turnovers on the night. And while the Roadrunners scored one last touchdown with 3:42 left in the fourth, Scottsdale Christian took home the 48-22 victory.

When asked about how he feels about his team's performances after the third straight win, Scottsdale Christian head coach Nate Holtz said, “I feel like we are trending in the right direction.  ... If we continue to work during the week like we did this week, I think a lot of good things could happen for our program.”

The Eagles (3-1) will be on the road next week as they face the Pima Roughriders (2-2) on Sept. 24.
