AIA Meet of Champions: Upshaw, Robinson, Honyumptewa lead North distance runners

St. Michael junior Ali Upshaw, Pinon senior Precious Robinson and Chinle senior Alisia Honyumptewa were top finishers from Northern Arizona schools, located on the Navajo Nation, during the Arizona Interscholastic Association's Track and Field Meet of Champions at Joe Sellah Stadium on the campus of Arizona State University in Tempe.
Upshaw, who posted a PR, was clocked in 4:58.80, while claiming second place in the 1600-meter run. Highland's Caroline McLeskey edged Upshaw in the 1600-meters. McLeskey crossed the finish line in 4:57.59. Robinson garnered sixth place in the 1600-meters, turning in a 5:12.08.
Robinson returned to the track to compete in the grueling 3200-meter run. Robinson posted an 11:03.74, finishing third place. Honyumptewa settled for fifth place in the 3200-meter run, clocking an 11:14.41. Flagstaff's Hana Hall was the 3200-meter champion. Hall was timed in 10:54.85. Hall finished fourth place in the 1600-meter run, posting a 5:07.77.
