It's time for 'Friday Night Lights'.

The regular gridiron season for North Region schools begins tonight. Schools will play non-region games, before hitting region contests.

At the conclusion of regular season games the first weekend in November, power rankings will determine whose season will continue on November 8 with the first round of the state tournament.

The state tournament quarterfinals is set for November 15. The field is cut to four schools on November 23 with the state semifinals. The state championship game is scheduled for November 29.

Some of the north schools will begin its regular season next week.
