Football: Blue Ridge outlasts St. Johns, 19-15

St. Johns and Blue Ridge renewed its classic gridiron rivalry with the Yellowjackets pulling off a 19-15 freedom game victory.
Blue Ridge's victory denied St. Johns head coach Mike Morgan of his 330th Arizona all-time career victory.
Blue Ridge remains undefeated at 3-0, as the Yellowjackets travel to Florence (1-1) to face the Gophers on Friday, September 13 at 7 p.m.
St. Johns (2-1) entertains the Globe Tigers (1-2) on Friday, September 13 at 7 o.m.
Blue Ridge quarterback P.J. London threw for 219 yards, completing 12-of-18 passes, one touchdown pass and was picked off once.
The Yellowjackets rushed for 118 yards. Damon Mitchell rushed for 38 yards on eight carries. London chalked up 31 yards on eight rushes, scoring two touchdowns. Cody Wallace added 21 yards on four carries.
Blue Ridge's Reece Esparza vaught one pass for 26 yards and one touchdown. Jimmy Wallaca hauled in three passes for 86 yards.
St. Johns scored two touchdowns in the first half.
St. Johns drove the ball down the field. St. Johns running back Tanner Crosby bolted into the end zone for for a 3 yard touchown run. Gage Trickey completed the PAT.
Crosby scored his second touchdown of the game on an 8 yard run. Ramon Sanchez rushed for the two-point PAT.
Crosby paced St. Johns on the ground, rushing for 109 yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns. St. Johns punter Graham Nielson rushed for 54 yards on a fake punt. Ira Tullous chalked up 57 yards, returning punts and kickoffs. Tullous picked off a pass, returning the pass interception 12 yards.
