The Gilbert Christian Robotics team is once again in the heat of another very competitive season. Since 2013 The Knights Robotics team has won 27 awards while competing at the FTC competition level. During that time the team has qualified for state every year and has also competed at Worlds during the years 2017 and 2018. Back 2013 Coach Anna Field took over the Robotics program at GCS. The former laser scientist brought years of experience and has used it to build a winning culture for GCS Robotics. Senior Katie Renaud said that Coach Field “has a lot of experience but also focuses on building a team community.” “ The family within the team has helped them achieve all of their success.” Renaud said.

The team recently hosted a qualifying tournament at Gilbert Christian High School. Since they were hosting the team did not compete but they did have more success at their last competition. In early November the team took 2nd place overall, while winning the “Think Award”, and earning 2nd place in the “Inspire Award” at the White Mountain Qualifying Tournament. Their next event will be another qualifying tournament in Socorro, New Mexico. They hope to take home the “Inspire Award”.
