Junior Emma Borgman will be the stopper at goalie this year. She is new to the GCHS team but not to soccer.

The women’s soccer team at Gilbert Christian High School is looking better than ever this year. Coach Jay Feely has been preparing them for a fantastic season. Casey Orellana, senior on the team, talked a little bit about what she’s looking forward to this season. “What I look forward to the most is state, even though we have almost a whole new team, we will practice hard enough to make it! I also can’t wait to help out the freshmen and help them be excited even when they are down, especially if Coach Feely is yelling at them.” We love her enthusiasm and passion for this season.
Emily Collard, striking mid, and Casey Orellana, defense, have fun on the sidelines, but will be all business on the pitch.
Kira McWilliams is playing in her first soccer season as a senior. “I can already see how effective our team is going to be. We have a great season ahead of us.” The team already won their first scrimmage against Walden Grove (a 4A team), and they are expecting many more wins down the road. Go Lady Knights!
