PHOENIX, Ariz., (Jan. 7) — Raytheon Company (NSYE: RTN) and the Arizona Interscholastic Association are expanding opportunities for high schools in Maricopa County to participate in robotics with a Nominate Your School campaign that will help one school start a VEX robotics team. Raytheon will donate $2,000 to the winning school to support the program start-up. Schools must submit their entries HERE by February 15, 2020.

“We are very grateful for Raytheon’s commitment to helping us grow VEX Robotics programs throughout Arizona,” said AIA Executive Director David Hines. “The company is expanding the curriculum to enable our Valley schools to follow in the footsteps of Southern Arizona and position our students for a bigger showing at state and national competitions.”

Raytheon has a steadfast commitment to fostering the next-generation of scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians through STEM education. The company will be a presenting sponsor of the AIA Robotics state championships at Canyon View High School on February 28-29.  The winning school will receive their $2,000 check at the championships giving them time to prepare for competition during the 2020-2021 School Year.
