3A NORTH REGIONAL TOURNAMENT HOOPS PAIRINGS

GIRLS

The 3A North Regional Tournament girls' action begins on Thursday in the Wildcat Den in Chinle.

The regional tournament continues through Saturday in the Wildcat Den. Daily admission into the Wildcat Den is $8 per person. Children 3-years-and-younger are free of charge.

Based on the regular season region record, the Page Lady Sand Devils, (7-3 region, 20-5 overall), earned the region's number one seed in the regional tournament. The Ganado Lady Hornets, (6-4 region, 23-5 overall) is seeded number two in the regional tournament.

As the regional tournament's top two seeds, Page and Ganado earned a bye in Thursday's first round. The Lady Sand Devils and the Lady Hornets will not play until Friday's second round.

No. 3 seed Tuba City Lady Warriors, (6-4 region, 17-8 overall), meets No. 6 seed Kayenta Monument Valley Lady Mustangs, (0-10 region, 6-19 overall), at 3 p.m. on Thursday in the Wildcat Den. The Tuba City/Kayenta Monument Valley winner faces Ganado on Friday at 3 p.m. in one semifinal game in the Wildcat Den.

No. 4 seed Chinle Lady Wildcats, (6-4 region, 14-8 overall), takes on No. 5 seed Window Rock Lady Scouts, (5-5 region, 16-8 overall), on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Wildcat Den. The survivor of the Chinle/Window Rock contest plays Page on Friday at 6 p.m. in the Wildcat Den in a semifinal game.

The losers of Friday's semifinal games play for third/fourth place on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Wildcat Den.

The semifinal winners meet for the regional tournament championship on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in the Wildcat Den.

3A GIRLS' STATE TOURNAMENT

The top 24 teams finishing in the final statewide power rankings earn a berth in the state tournament.

ROUND ONE, FEBRUARY 18

Final rankings will determine High Seed.

ROUND TWO, FEBRUARY 21

Games will be played on High Seed's home court.

QUARTERFINALS, FEBRUARY 24

Games will be played in Findlay Toyota Center, Prescott.

SEMIFINALS, FEBRUARY 28

Games will be played in Arizona Veteran's Memorial Coliseum, Phoenix.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, FEBRUARY 29

Game will be played in Arizona Veteran's Memorial Coliseum, Phoenix.

BOYS

The 3A North Regional Tournament boys' games begins on Thursday in the Wildcat Den in Chinle.

Similar to the girls' regional tournament, boys' games continue through Saturday in the Wildcat Den. Daily admission is $8 per person into the Wildcat Den. Children 3-years-and-younger are free of charge.

Page, (9-1 region, 24-2 overall), earned the regional tournament's number one seed, after winning the region outright. Chinle, (6-4 region, 18-10 overall), is the regional tournament's number two seed.

Page and Chinle both earned first round byes in the regional tournament on Thursday. The Sand Devils and Wildcats will not play until Friday in the regional tournament.

No. 3 Kayenta Monument Valley, (5-5 region, 12-13 overall), meets No. 6 Ganado, (1-9 region, 4-21 overall), on Thursday in a 4:30 p.m. matchup in the Wildcat Den. The Kayenta Monument Valley/Ganado winner plays Chinle on Friday at 4:30 p.m. in a semifinal contest.

No. 4 seed Tuba City, (5-5 region, 13-11 overall), takes on No. 5 seed Window Rock, (4-6 region, 14-13 overall), on Thursday in a 7:30 p.m. contest. in the Wildcat Den. Tuba City/Window Rock winner faces Page at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in a semifinal game in the Wildcat Den.

Friday's semifinal game losers play for third/fourth place on Saturday at 11:30 p.m. in the Wildcat Den.

The survivors of the the semifinal matchups meet for the regional tournament championship game on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Wildcat Den.
