Southern Arizona’s newest high school Mica Mountain has a full slate of head coaches

If things get anywhere near normal this fall, Mica Mountain will be one of the newest high schools in Southern Arizona, joining Cienega and Empire in the Vail School District
The Thunderbolts will be competing in the 4A Gila Region along with Amphitheater, Douglas, Rio Rico, Sahuarita and Walden Grove. The 4A Kino Region from Southern Arizona will be comprised of Canyon del Oro, Cholla, Pueblo, Sahuaro and Salpointe.
For football, Mica Mountain will be in the 4A Kino Region along with Canyon del Oro, Casa Grande, Pueblo, Sahuaro and Walden Grove.
Cienega will be competing at the 5A level and Empire at the 3A level except for football. The Ravens will be in the 4A Gila Region for football.
Former Cienega football coach Nemer Hassey is the principal at Mica Mountain and former Sabino football coach Jay Campos will be an assistant. Along with AD Whitney Holland, the program has put together an impressive list of head coaches:
Football: Brett Darling
(Cienega defensive coordinator will start the program and the head coach will be named in the spring of 2021)
Girls Volleyball: Amy Johnson (702 career wins with Salpointe and Sabino)
Cross Country: Josh Farr (Cienega head coach)
Swim: Kim Farr (Cienega head coach)
Cheer: Danielle Neumann (Cienega assistant)
