Best Friends and senior captains, Avery and Kylie, give their thumbs up for the season.

Avery Shude is a very skilled teammate on the sand volleyball team and has a strong drive for success for this season. As I interviewed her, you could see the love of volleyball in her eyes as she talked about the year and what it will hold. Here
are a few of the questions that I asked:

What inspired you to play volleyball?

"My parents have inspired me to pursue volleyball as a kid because they saw the raw talent."

What are your goals for the season?

"Have a winning season. The goal for the end of the season is to make it to state and win against all the competition."

Who do you most enjoy playing with?

"One of my best friends, Kylie. We have played volleyball together for years and have grown a trust for each other on and off the court. It helps when knowing that the other person will have your back when you are unable to get the ball."

What are you best at skillswise?

"Deep High Line Shots. When I use this technique the rally is short and sweet, gaining us points faster and faster."

Moving forward with the season, how do you see the team growing?

"The team is growing stronger in their friendships on and off the court. The team's chances on making it to state are very high knowing where the skill level is at with each individual on the team."

Are you excited to graduate?

"Yes, I cannot wait to leave my legacy as a captain with the Volleyball team I love playing on. A legacy I hope to leave behind with my team is the love I had for each and every one of them and that if you push hard enough, you will most definitely reach the goals you set out for yourself."
