PHOENIX- The Horizon Huskies journey south to Central High School Monday night and defeated the Bobcats, 69-30, in a non-conference game.

The Huskies won the tip-off and immediately decided they wanted to shoot nothing but threes.

For the game being played indoors, it was still raining: raining threes!

WIthing four minutes, the team was shooting five-for-five with all five of the shots being threes. The Huskies would end with a dozen made threes, or 36 points, more points than the Bobcats would score overall.

Horizon's Cameron Coraggio, a 6'2" senior, had five 3-pointers of his own, accounting for fifteen of his 28 points.

Huskies head coach Andrew Doss said before the game that this is what someone should expect. "We have a great team," said Doss. "The offense will show tonight."

The visitors were not only shooting out of their shoes but also locked down the Bobcats with their defense. From steals to blocks, the Huskies did it all.

Boy, Doss did not lie.

The Huskies held the Bobcats to eleven points in the first quarter and only 12 points between the second and third quarters.

The Bobcats never led and only scored double digits in the first quarter. They scored four points in the second, making the halftime score Huskies 48, Bobcats 15.

Even at an away game, Huskies fans represented as if it were a home game. With non-stop cheers, and roars after every three made, the fans were loyal to their team.

In the fourth quarter, Ethan Sandler, a junior, was put into the game and the Huskies fans erupted. Long, loud cheers, and the team on their feet, something that may have taken Sandler by surprise.

Sandler is a player on the school's junior varsity team, but practices with varsity and sits on the bench at their games.

"I like away games, I like them better than home," Sandler, a junior, said. "I like the away atmosphere to pull off upsets."

On Monday night, Sandler finished a JV game just about 20 to thirty minutes before the varsity game was set to start, also getting a win during that game.

He contributed to the Huskies' spectacular defense and managed to record a steal, and put immense pressure on shooters.

The Huskies play at home Thursday against Apollo at 7 p.m. before going back on the road Friday at Pinnacle.
