On Thursday, January 27th, the Chandler Prep Titans faced the San Tan Charter Roadrunners on the Titan’s home court. After the girls held on for a 35-29 home court win, the boys faced a tough loss 66-56, again unable to finish after the half.

San Tan Charter led for the majority of the game, but the Chandler Prep Titans managed to take a small lead that put them up 26-24 at the half.

Scoring over a third of the Chandler Prep’s points (22) was senior point guard Noah Rasmussen, the only Titan who scored in double digits on Thursday. The Roadrunners had young leadership on all parts of their offense, with a sophomore point guard and center, and a junior shooting guard, all of whom posed challenges for the Titans.

At the beginning of the second half, the Roadrunners stole the ball five times and were consistently grabbing offensive rebounds for put-back points. Chandler Prep ended the night with only six steals and senior VanOrdt did the most in the post with defensive rebounds, but still only came down with five. San Tan Charter outscored the Titans 20-8 in the third quarter.

The whole second half was a frenzy of fouls and both teams were in the double bonus in the fourth quarter with several players in foul trouble. With 3:52 left in the game, the score was 52-38 in favor of San Tan Charter. After several bursts of scoring from both teams, the Roadrunners secured their victory 66-56.

The Chandler Prep Titans celebrate senior night on February 1st, facing Horizon Honors. Titan Up.
