Cienega beat Flagstaff 13-1 Tuesday at the Salpointe Lancer Baseball Classic held at the Reid Park Annex in Tucson. The game ended in the bottom of the six via the run-rule regulation.

The game was tied 1-1 after the first inning but the hits and runs kept coming for the Bobcats including a towering home run by ASU commit Isaiah Jackson with several professional scouts in attendance. Jackson went 3 for 3 with a double and the solo shot and he finished with 3 RBI from his centerfield position.

Jackson will have to perform under the lights all season but the attention can also focus on some of his teammates including junior Conner Balmer who went 2-3 with a double and an RBI. Jimmy Diaz, Christian Cruz, Caleb Herd and Adian Duarte also hit doubles for Cienega.

Kasen Lomax, Joey Staiger, Andrew Palakovich and Balmer saw pitching action for the Bobcats. Lomax got the start and he went 4 innings.

Flagstaff also displayed some power with Silas Richmann connecting on a triple and Tristen Figueroa went 2-3. Teague Van Dyke had a double and an RBI. Bodie Maier went 4.1 innings for Flagstaff and Luke Wilson also saw the mound. There were only 4 total strikeouts in the game from both teams.

Cienega is 3-2 in ranking games and the Bobcats will be waiting for pool play to finish to see which opponent they will face next. Flagstaff (1-2) takes on Tucson Sahuaro (3-3) on Wednesday.

Bracket play begins on Thursday afternoon and the tournament is scheduled to end Friday night.
