Faith Kost attends Gilbert Christian High School and is a member of the AIA's student SID program.

Lizzie Biek, a senior in high school, who is a student athlete at Gilbert Christian has done a multitude of different sports in her lifetime, but her main sport that she participates in is spiritline.

This is Lizzie’s last year in spiritline at Gilbert Christian High School, where she cheered for all four years of high school. She also did competitive cheer for three years prior to joining the high school spiritline team. Lizzie is one of the two captains of her cheer team, the other being one of her best friends, Kathryn Murphy. She is saddened to have to leave what she calls, “a great environment of girls who are able to work together toward one goal to be the best and strive at winning competitions.”

Cheer is a tough sport but there are many benefits from it that people don't normally think about, “It has helped me with perseverance, teamwork and communication skills” says Lizzie.

Coming off of the previous first place win at last year's Pink State, Lizzie feels excited to tackle competitions this year and says her team is more unified and stronger altogether. She feels great about heading into competitions and can't wait to see what this next season of cheer has in store for the Lady Knights.

Lizzie is a tri-sport athlete who is also currently taking AP classes and two different math classes. She has cheered all year round for football, basketball and during the competition season. Along with her fall sport where she runs on her school’s cross country and her spring sport where she is on her school's track team.

Despite her busy life of juggling sports, school and spending time with her family, she says she is able to find peace and stability in God and just being in constant prayer with Him helps her to remain at peace. While she has had to make sacrifices to be able to be where she is at right now in this stage of life, she trusts that it is all in God’s hands and whatever he has planned for her is right.
