New University of Arizona football coach Rich Rodriguez added two running backs to his stable this past weekend, according to the Tucson Citizen.
The newspaper reported that Mauriece Lee of Marcos de Niza (Tempe, Ariz.) and Zachary Green of St. Bonaventure (Ventura, Calif.) committed to play for the Wildcats. The versatile Lee rushed for more than 700 yards and had more than 400 yards receiving last season. Green, who was selected the running back MVP at the recent Nike Football Training Camp, had 1,050 yards rushing last season.
The newspaper speculated that Lee's commitment might help sway his high school teammate Priest Willis, a highly recruited cornerback who has about 30 offers from top programs such as LSU, USC and Michigan, among others.
However, Mike Walker, the stepfather of Willis, told the Arizona Republic that Lee's decision will be a "non-factor" in Willis' recruitment.
