Cameron Hackworth passes for 386 yards with 5 TDs to help lead Sabino past Coolidge

Based on the preseason AZPreps365/Sollenberger Rankings, Sabino is the top-ranked team in the 3A Conference and the first outing of the season for the Sabercats showed what many people already knew, this team is explosive.
Sabino beat Coolidge 55-28 on the road in Week One and the team did it in almost every aspect of the game. Senior quarterback Cameron Hackworth went 17 of 25 for 386 yards with five touchdowns and he rushed for another.
Sr. Mason Cade gained 86 yards on three carries with a TD and the team ended with 186 yards rushing at 13.3 yards a clip. Jr. WR Shamar Berryhill pulled in six passes for 199 yards and three TDs and Sr. WR Savaughn Berryhill had 62 yards and a TD. Diego Hanrahan ran a kick return back 95 yards for a score and he also kicked five extra points.
Coolidge was limited to 18 yards passing but the team rushed for 359 yards on 38 carries with Sr. Jovonte Wall rushing 12 times for 142 yards and a TD and Sr. Gavin Gunter rushing four times for 99 yards and a TD. All four scores came on the ground.
In addition, Hackworth became the 13th player from Southern Arizona to pass for over 5,000 yards in a career and he sits at number 11 with 5,312 career passing yards.
Sabino (1-0) travels to play Sahuaro (0-0) this Friday in a rivalry game while Coolidge (0-1) travels to Benjamin Franklin (1-0). It is the first game of the year for Sahuaro but Franklin beat Crismon 40-0 on Friday.
