Valley Christian junior Ailis Tribolet shot a 12-under-par 132 to capture the 2024 Division III Championship held at the Aguila Golf Course in Laveen Village. Tribolet shot a 3-under 69 on Monday, which put her two strokes behind Ty Pennypacker of Scottsdale Prep after the first round, but a 9-under 63 on Tuesday put her four strokes ahead of the field.
Phenix Country Day sophomore Brady Sheridan shot a 6-under 136 (70-66) to take second overall, and also the top honors on the boy’s side. Phoenix Christian junior JJ Brigowatz took third (71-68: 139).
Valley Christian (584) came away with the eight championship program history (2005, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2024) with current head coach Scott Longanecker winning the last seven. Scottsdale Christian (593) took second. Scottsdale Prep (595) led after the first round by seven strokes but Valley Christian and Scottsdale Christian scored identical 1-under rounds on Tuesday. Scottsdale Prep won the last three prior championship and Scottsdale Christian finished runner-up the last two years to Scottsdale Prep.
