Folsom players head list of national stat stars

August 30, 2012 by MaxPreps, AZPreps365

After throwing for the second-highest yardage total in California history, it's no surprise that Folsom's Jake Browning and his receiver teammates Phillip Carter and Lucas Owan are among the national stat leaders this week.

Browning threw for 689 yards and was nearly 200 yards better than the next passer on the list, Davidson Day's Will Grier, who threw for 493 yards.

Carter caught 10 passes for 317 yards, which equaled the total of Douglas receiver Dustan Fischer, who had his total in 12 catches. Owan, meanwhile, was fifth for the week with 236 yards.

Jalen Hurd of Beech (Hendersonville, Tenn.) is the rushing leader after his 462-yard effort.
