Some of the non-football state tournaments will begin this week and others next week.

That will leave some time for the state’s swimmers and divers to have one last tune-up for their Division I and Division II state competitions Nov. 2-3.

Here are some of the last big swimming meets in Scottsdale, Phoenix and the southwest and northwest Valley . . .

Scottsdale District Meet (boys and girls), Tuesday (Oct. 23) at Cactus Pool, Scottsdale.

Teams – Phoenix Arcadia, Scottsdale Chaparral, Scottsdale Coronado, Scottsdale Desert Mountain, Scottsdale Saguaro.

Agua Fria District Championships (boys and girls), Thursday (Oct. 25) and Friday (Oct. 26) at Goodyear YMCA Pool.

Peoria Unified District Championships (boys and girls), Friday and Saturday (Oct. 27) at Glendale Community College.

Teams – Glendale Cactus, Peoria Centennial, Glendale Ironwood, Peoria Liberty, Peoria, Glendale Raymond S. Kellis, Peoria Sunrise Mountain.

Northwest Regional (boys and girls), Friday-Saturday at Glendale Community College.

Teams – Phoenix Barry Goldwater, Anthem Boulder Creek, Glendale Deer Valley, Kingman, Glendale Mountain Ridge, Phoenix Sandra Day O’Connor.

White Tanks Invitational (boys and girls), Friday-Saturday at Surprise Aquatics Center.

Teams – Prescott Valley Bradshaw Mountain, Buckeye, Goodyear Desert Edge, El Mirage Dysart, Goodyear Estrella Foothills, Surprise Shadow Ridge, Buckeye Verrado, Buckeye Youngker.

Glendale Union High School District Meet (boys and girls), Friday-Saturday at Peoria Sunrise Mountain High.

Teams – Glendale Apollo, Phoenix Cortez, Phoenix Greenway, Glendale Independence, Phoenix Moon Valley, Phoenix Sunnyslope, Phoenix Thunderbird, Phoenix Washington.
