After a successful inaugural run last December, the Tarkanian Classic is shaping up as a premier event nationally in 2013.

Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), Lone Peak (Highland, Utah), Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) and Redondo Union (Redondo Beach, Calif.) – all 2012-13 state champs – are among the headliners already committed to play.

The Classic will be held Dec. 18-21 at Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas and include two 16-team divisions. National powerhouse Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) is also committed to participate in a prep school division.

Tournament MVP and recent Pangos All-American Camp most outstanding player Stanley Johnson tallied 23 points and 12 rebounds in last year's final to lead Mater Dei past Bishop Gorman 76-60.

Johnson will be among the headliners once again along with elite 2015 bigs Ivan Rabb of Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland, Calif.) and Stephen Zimmerman of Bishop Gorman, standout guard T.J. Haws of defending national champ Lone Peak and UNLV verbal commitment Dwayne Morgan of St. Frances Academy (Baltimore).
