Chandler mourns the passing of Dale Hancock

The Chandler Unified School District is mourning the loss of former teacher, administrator and governing board member Dale Hancock. Hancock passed away Wednesday night at the age of 72.
I didn't know Dale extremely well, but dealt with him mostly when he was an assistant superintendent for Chandler. He was always pleasant, straight forward and did not beat around the bush when asked a tough question.
He was very professional, caring and someone I respected, particularly when it came to those dreaded coaching searches that districts guard so closely.
Condolences to the Chandler district and educators around the state for the loss of Hancock. The district obviously appreciates him, naming the Hamilton HIgh gymnasium and an elementary school after him.
