Highlights from Alabama, Hawaii and Virginia make the cut.

The 2016 season is here and so is the first installment of High School Football Plays of the Week. Much of the nation is still waiting to kick off but there was still plenty of highlights to sort through from last weekend.

And now for the names and details with this week's plays, in order of appearance:

5. Andrew Kaufusi of Kaiser (Honolulu) whizzes around the entire Roosevelt defense and takes the kickoff all the way back for a score.

4. D'Jon Askew of Indian River (Chesapeake, Va.) pulls off the juke of the year so far with an ankle-breaker as he blazes for a 55-yard touchdown run against Ocean Lakes.

3. Rashaad Stewart of Clearwater Central Catholic (Fla.) rumbles down the sideline and somehow twists out of two tackles to finish a 40-yard touchdown run against Clearwater.

2. Jacob Feinstein of Sanderson (Raleigh, N.C.) leaps up and comes down with a ridiculous one-handed snag and keeps his feet in bounds for the score. Wow!

1. Thomas Sims of Bessemer Academy (Ala.) is Mr. Untouchable and makes all defenders miss for a touchdown scamper.

As an added bonus, check out Sims' teammate Chris Levins as he corrals a tipped ball for an interception and weaves his way for a 75-yard pick-six against Lamar.
