Blue Ridge, Wickenburg, Deer Valley host track events

The high school track and field season continues its push toward state-meet time with three key meets this weekend (April 15-16) in Glendale and northeast and western Arizona.
The Blue Ridge Invitational will be held at Blue Ridge High School in Lakeside on Friday. Field events begin at 11 a.m., running events at 11:30.
Teams participating are Whiteriver Alchesay, Apache Junction, Blue Ridge, Holbrook, Joseph City, Many Farms, Heber Mogollon, Kayenta Monument Valley, Flagstaff Nortland Prep, Payson, Pinon, Round Valley, Show Low, Snowflake, St. Johns, Sanders Valley, Phoenix Westwind Prep, Window Rock and Winslow.
The Wrangler Invitational will be held Friday at Wickenburg High School.
Field events begin at 3 p.m., running events at 4 p.m.
Participating teams are Lake Havasu, Camp Verde, Chino Valley, Flagstaff Coconino, Goodyear Estrella Foothills, Fountain Hills, Cottonwood Mingus, Parker, River Valley, Tonopah Valley, Wickenburg, Ajo, Salome and San Pasqual (Winterhaven, Calif.).
The Westside Track Invitational will be held Saturday at Deer Valley High in Glendale.
Finals in field events are at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Preliminaries in the running events begin at 10 a.m. Finals in the running events begin at 5:05 p.m., followed by the awards ceremonies.
Participating teams are Deer Valley, Surprise Willow Canyon, Kingman, Glendale Raymond S. Kellis, Avondale Westview, Phoenix Sandra Day O’Connor, Peoria Liberty, Phoenix St. Mary’s, Peoria Centennial, Scottsdale Desert Mountain, Surprise Valley Vista, Anthem Boulder Creek, Phoenix Barry Goldwater, Glendale Ironwood, Prescott, Bullhead City Mohave, Phoenix Pinnacle, Glendale Independence, Phoenix Shadow Mountain, Phoenix Greenway, Glendale Copper Canyon, Tolleson, Goodyear Millennium, Surprise Shadow Ridge, Peoria Sunrise Mountain, Glendale and Phoenix Central.
