A small invitational at Dobson High and a mammoth one in north Scottsdale  -- the Arizona Soccer Showcase -- close out the 2016 portion of the 2016-2017 winter season this week.

Dobson High hosts its annual Dobson Mustang Classic with an 8-team girls bracket and 14-team boys bracket. The tournament begins Monday Dec. 26 and concludes Thursday Dec. 29. The first three days are pool play and will be played at the Red Mountain Soccer Complex. The final day consists of semis and finals and will be played at Dobson High.

Wednesday Dec. 28: 10 a.m. -- Dobson vs. McClintock. Millennium vs. Higley, Basha vs. Central, Ironwood vs. Metro Tech, Perry vs. Campo Verde, Betty Fairfax vs. Cesar Chavez. Noon -- Gilbert vs. Red Mountain.

Thursday Dec. 29 semifinals: 8 a.m. -- Silver winner vs. Red Card. 10 a.m. -- Blue winner vs. Black winner. Championship -- 4 p.m. 

ARIZONA SOCCER SHOWCASE (Hamilton HS host school)

All matches played at Reach Soccer Complex (Tuesday Dec. 27 through Friday Dec. 30)

Tournament is composed of two 16-team brackets (Boys Black and Boys Maroon and Girls Black and Girls Maroon) for a total of 64 teams. Pool play is Tuesday Dec. 27 through Thursday Dec. 29 with semis played late afternoon on Dec. 29. Championship matches for each bracket are Friday Dec. 30.
