Sahuaro went undefeated to capture the championship of the Sabino Capital Connect Tournament this past week. The Cougars jumped out to a 31-13 lead on Mingus in the championship game and held on for a 63-48 victory.

Brendan Gary came up big for Sahuaro (15-2) in the championship and he came away with 22 points. Manny Zarate added 11 points while Jordan Kittrell and Devan Gary scored nine points each. Mingus (7-11) was led by Isaac Escalante. The senior guard scored 11 points.
