Robinson made impact in Chandler district softball

Allison Robinson coached her final game for Perry's softball team on Wednesday, guiding the Pumas to a third consecutive state playoff berth and two 5A East Valley Region titles. She leaves the Perry program with a solid tradition since it opened four years ago.
Prior to that Robinson revitalized Chandler High's softball program in a five-year stint with the Wolves. Chandler High struggled in softbal when she arrived and when she left after the 2007 season the Wolves were competitive and even qualified for the state tournament her final two years, barely missing in 2005.
There's no guarantee when a former collegian enters education and coaching that he or she will make a difference. But Robinson (then Allison Andrade), the starting shortstop on the University of Arizona's 2001 national championship softball team, did an outstanding job with the sport in the district.
A district this year, by the way, that saw all four of its high schools qualify for state for the first time ever in the same season. Good luck to Robinson as she returns to her roots in Calfiornia and begins the process of rebuilding another high school softball proram.
