The possibility looms that all four Chandler Unified District high schools could win a state title this weekend, starting with softball on Friday night.

Basha takes on Red Mountain for the 5A-I title at 8 p.m. at Rose Mofford Softball Complex. The Bears are looking for their third title in four years. Hamilton goes for its fourth baseball crown, meeting up with Mountain Pointe for the 5A-I crown Saturday at 7 p.m. at Camelback Ranch Glendale Stadium. At the same time at Phoenix Municipal Stadium on Saturday, Perry aims for the school's first ever team title in anything, matching up with perennial baseball winner Chaparral in the 5A-II championship game.

Chandler High is almost assured of latching on to a championship trophy in girls track Saturday at Mesa Community College and its boys volleyball team plays a 5:30 p.m. semifinal on Friday against top-seed Salpointe at Campo Verde High School. Boys volleyball championship game, should the Wolves advance, is set for 3 p.m. on Saturday at Campo Verde. The Wolves opponent, should they advance, would be either Mesa Mountain View or Gilbert.
