Preview - Brophy @ Red Mountain

September 7, 2011 by Game Previews, AZPreps365

This Friday’s game will be a test for both teams; one team wanting to recover from a loss and the other wanting to keep their momentum going.  At opposite ends of the Week 2 rankings for Division 1*, (No. 3 Brophy, No. 9 Red Mountain) both teams have much to prove.  A win over Brophy would be huge for Red Mountain – not just in numbers – but in morale as well.  For Brophy, a win over Red Mountain means maintaining their course.

The recent history between these two teams has been one-sided: during the 2004-2005 post-season Brophy won 24-0, during the 2009-2010 regular season Brophy won 46-17, and in the 2010-2011 regular season Brophy won again 17-7.  To break this chain, Red Mountain will need to stop Brophy’s offense and quarterback Tyler Bruggman, who threw for three touchdowns last week in the win over Boulder Creek.  For Brophy, the task will be to build off of last week’s performance.  Keep their offense strong while not underestimating Red Mountain on either side of the ball.  It is still early in the season, but it has been proven time and again on the field that anything can happen.
