Peoria, AZ – Two teams off to opposite starts to the season meet up as the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos clash with the Centennial Coyotes this Friday in Peoria.  The Coyotes are off to a perfect 2-and-0 start following huge wins over Kellis and Millennium. After opening the year with a 52-7 home victory over Kellis, head coach Richard Taylor’s squad cruised to a 44-0 rout at Millennium last week.

 

Centennial standout senior Zach Hoffpauir leads the team with five touchdowns in the first two games; four rushing and one receiving. With a huge Thursday night matchup at home against undefeated Apollo next week, the Coyotes still should not look past the Lobos.

 

La Joya, which comes into the contest at 0-and-2, has been outscored 111-0 so far this year. Home losses to Cesar Chavez and Betty Fairfax have the Lobos still searching for their first points of the season. La Joya is starting a rough stretch of road games at Centennial, Millennium and Apollo. Kickoff Friday night is set for 7pm.
