The players have worked hard since pre-season. The players are not looking back and not looking forward to any game. Their minds are on Alchesay. It's going to be a challenging game."

Newcomb said Red Mesa is well coached and enter the game unbeaten at 9-0.

"They have a significant number of seniors," Newcomb said. "They have several offensive weapons, led by running back Roland Begay, wide receiver Hunter Pipkin, a big tight end Keanu Smith, utility player Brandon Richardson, who has played every position for them. They have a very competant quarterback Dearan Horce, that can get them the ball. We have our work cut out for us."

Kayenta Monument Valley (4-5, 3-1) at Page (8-1, 4-0) - 7 p.m.

To make this a close, exciting game, Kayenta Monument Valley Mustangs and Page Sand Devils must take care of the football, limit its' mental mistakes and play 48 minutes of football.

"Monument Valley is coming off a big win," said Page head coach Mitchell Stephens. "They are well coached. They are very athletic at the receiver position."

Kayenta Monument Valley head coach Bryan Begay said Page is the region champion, until someone knocks them off their throne.

"They love to onside kick," Begay said. "They love to run the ball. They have some athletes. To them football is taken from a business approach. Again, every game is a playoff game. You have to prepare for them. I'm excited for the opportunity that is presented to us. You have to love to play in this type of atmosphere."

Tuba City entertains the Chinle Wildcats on Senior Night for the Warriors today at 7 p.m. in a final 3A North Region contest.

First-year Chinle head coach Alan Barwick said the Wildcats face Tuba City for its final regular season game this year.

"They have one of the most underrated quarterbacks (Ty Engle) in the state," Barwick said. "We are looking forward to the challenge of defending him."

First-year Tuba City head coach Floyd Haven said 30 players were ineligible last week and half of them became eligible for this week's game.

"We have about 15 that are trying to become eligible and six of them are key senior players," Haven said. "If we get players back from ineligibility, that will boost our offense and defense."

Haven said the Warriors' offensive line needs to give its quarterback Ty Engle time enough to throw the ball to the wide receivers and running backs.

"Our running game has potential with sophomore running back Seth Brown and senior running back Seth Dugi," Haven said. "The offensive line has to block for our running backs. We expect a good football game, if we can slow them down offensively."

They are a very tough team to play. We are looking forward to playing this Friday in our homecoming game. It should be exciting. This will be a tough game for both teams."

Greyhills Academy head coach Kyle Blackrock said the Knights are looking forward to the game.

"I haven't gotten much of a scouting report on them," Blackrock said. "But we look forward to playing our game on Friday night."
