Preview - Millennium @ Deer Valley

The Deer Valley Skyhawks put their perfect record on the line Friday night as they host the Millennium Tigers in a Division II, Section I contest in Glendale. It’s homecoming for the Skyhawks, who at 4-and-0, are now ranked second in Division II and first in Section I. Trae Armstrong rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns to lead Deer Valley to a 42-24 home victory over Horizon last Friday. Armstrong now has 503 yards and eight TDs on the ground this season.
Senior quarterback Auston Hillman has thrown for 529 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions. He also has rushed for 197 yards and a score, including an 80-yard scamper last Friday against Horizon. Deer Valley has outscored its opponents 141-51 so far this year.
Millennium comes into the contest with a 3-and-1 mark, including 2-and-1 in Section I play. The Tigers lone loss of the season was a 44-0 setback to undefeated Centennial in Week 2. They have since won 55-3 at Verrado and most recently 63-0 over La Joya last week. Millennium, now ranked 11th in Division II and fifth in Section I, has outscored its opponents 150-21 in its three victories.
Chad Hons has tossed for 519 yards with six touchdowns and one interception. The senior signal caller has also ran in for a score. Junior Lavonte Hatcher leads the team with 304 yards rushing and three TDs on 23 carries. Kickoff Friday night is at 7pm.
