State tennis singles and doubles begin Friday April 24

The state individual tennis tournaments (singles and doubles for boys and girls) commences Friday April 24 at sites around the Valley. A number of defending champions and recent-high finishers dot the field in Division I, Division II and Division III. The first two rounds are set for Friday April 24 and a third round on Saturday April 25. Those will lead to quarterfinals on Friday May 1 and semifinals and finals Saturday May 2.

BOYS SINGLES

Notre Dame Prep's Luke Carstens was D-II doubles champ in 2013, finished third in D-II singles in 2014 and fniished third in D-II doubles in 2012. Catalina Foothills Nate Rasmussen was 2014 D-II doubles champ and place third in D-II singles in 2013. Brophy's David Akin was 2013 D-I doubles champ.
